Hiking & Exploring

Getting Outside

My interest in national parks took off while I was stationed at Twentynine Palms with the Marine Corps. Zion and the Grand Canyon were both in reach, and those trips set a standard that’s been hard to match since. Hiking earns you the views you can’t see from the parking lot — that’s the whole point.

Since then I’ve made it out to Yosemite, Death Valley, Sequoia, and Sedona. Fifteen national parks visited so far, with a lot more on the list. Most of my day-to-day hiking is around Ohio and the surrounding region, but I try to get somewhere bigger whenever I can.

Technology

Tinkering & Learning

Outside of coursework, I spend time on my homelab — experimenting with new software, testing network configurations, and exploring technologies I don’t encounter in class. It’s as much a hobby as it is a learning tool.

Tech & Documentation

I enjoy reading technical documentation, project write-ups, and staying current with topics in networking, Linux, and self-hosting communities.
